Moto G, when it launched last year was motorola's one of the most successful phone. It had shaken Indian smartphone market with goods specs at lower cost. In India this device proved very popular. Now they have come up with its successor "Moto G" (2nd Gen) as we called just to differentiate. Despite being very popular Moto G was not a complete phone. So Motorola has tried to work out on some of the issues and launched new Moto G. In this post we will see what changes that Motorola has done to stand in the competition.
The first major change that Motorola has done is increase the screen size to 5 inch. It has 720p IPS display with corning Gorilla glass support. This device has 2 speakers on the top and below the screen.
As far as Camera is concern Motorola has given 8MP with LED flash back and 2 Mp front camera in the new device. They could have further increased resolution to 13 MP which almost all the phone in the same category is offering.
Coming to processor, like old Moto G, this phone also runs on 1.2 Ghz snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM which will make sure that consumer get snappy performance without any lag.
Another major change that Motorola has done on this device is they have given Micro SD card slot. Now you can expand memory upto 32GB, which is really good upgrade than its older version. Motorola haven't done any changes in battery size. This device has the same 2070 mAh battery which is little disappointing.
It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat and it will get Android L upgrade soon.
Overall We can say its a decent upgrade that its older version. But they could have given improved specs to compete in the market. The biggest competitor of this Device is Mi3, which is way ahead in terms of specs than this device. However MI3 has put on hold by Xiaomi which may help sale of this device. Like MI 3, Moto G does not have stock issues, and easily available on Flipkart.
